Averian Book the first step

Strategy · Technology · Assurance

Strategy that survives contact with delivery.

Averian works with boards and executive teams in regulated, capital-intensive industries. One practice sets direction. The other proves the technology and programmes carrying that direction will survive it.

The problem we solve

Most strategies do not fail in the boardroom.

They fail somewhere between the board pack and the operating floor — in a target operating model nobody owns, a programme with no assurance, or a system that was never validated against what the business actually needs.

Averian was built to close that gap. In regulated, capital-intensive sectors those two halves cannot be bought separately and bolted together afterwards, because the cost of getting either one wrong is measured in years rather than quarters.

So we do both, in one engagement model, from one office in Limerick — working across the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

How we engage

You are never asked to commit to a programme to find out whether the approach works.

Every Averian engagement begins with something small enough to approve without a business case.

  1. 01

A short first step, priced up front

A Heat Map, a Technical Assessment or a Testpresso. Days, not months. Fixed price, agreed before we start.

    One to five days
  2. 02

    Information you did not have

Every step produces something that stands on its own — a map, a document, a findings pack — and remains useful whether or not you go further.

    Yours to keep
  3. 03

The next step named, and costed

We tell you what we think should happen next and what it costs. Including, where it applies, that nothing should happen next.

    Your decision
  4. 04

Delivery, with a stated option to stop

Larger engagements run to formal checkpoints. At each one you get a dashboard, a return-on-investment position and a costed set of options — one of which is always to stop.

Built for your situation

No two clients get the same mix.

We do not bring a factory approach. Every engagement establishes the context first — what information is needed, who needs to know it, and when — and only then sets the shape of the work.

On the assurance side that shape has a name. Averian SWAT holds that useful software quality work comes from four activities in balance, each answering to a different stakeholder: Formal answers to management and the regulator, Analysis to the business, Exploratory to the end user, Automation to the developer. Each has a characteristic failure when it runs alone, and most organisations are strong in one and blind in the other three.

Setting that balance correctly for your situation is the work. It is why a Heat Map comes before a proposal, why the dashboard is built from metrics you already use, and why the method stays behind when we leave.

How SWAT works

Sectors

Where the regulatory or capital burden makes getting it wrong expensive.

Renewable Energy

Market entry, portfolio strategy, and the systems that run a generation or supply business.

Pharmaceutical & Bio-Technology

Validated delivery, computerised system assurance and the transition to risk-based CSA.

Financial Services & Payments

Growth models, operating structure and delivery assurance at scale.

Industrials & Utilities

Process frameworks, cost and efficiency programmes, and post-acquisition integration.

What we do in each

Tell us the problem. We will tell you the first step.

Not a proposal, not a pitch deck — a short conversation, then a written view of how we read it and what we would do about it.
